Spring in Amsterdam is really inspiring me, as a professional photographer. After a long and rainy winter, the city became green and full of life. Flowers are everywhere. Especially tulips, witch are symbol of the Netherlands, a lot of magnolia trees in blossom, people around riding their bikes, having fun in the parks or just chilling on boats.
This spring inspired me and Ana to create this video which you can see bellow. Ana is a make-up artist based in Amsterdam. We are good friends and sometimes we collaborate together. She asked me to film a day of her life in Amsterdam. To capture the best location which everybody should visit.
I am a professional photographer and I am generally not doing videos. Nonetheless, I accepted Ana’s challenge. First of all, we met in Amsterdam Zuid, at her house. We started our video with putting on the make-up so we can start exploring the city and its unique locations.
We had a bike ride through old-south Amsterdam. This area is full of magnolia trees and cute houses along the canals. Then, we headed to the Pijp to buy some tulips. By the way, this is my favourite part of Amsterdam. Most of the best restaurants are there which also brings together a good part of Amsterdam’s people.
After passing the Pijp, we arrived at Museum Plein. This is one of the main touristic destinations of Amsterdam. There you can find the most popular museums of the city like Van Gogh Musem, Rijksmuseum, Mocco Museum etc.
We ended our short film there and then we had some drinks right on the grass at Museum Plein. This area is very popular for picnics, festivals and events but during the winter time, here you can find the iconic Ice-Skating of Amsterdam.
After this collaboration, I understood that my photographer skills helped me to film this video and opened a new passion for vide filming. Hope you will like this short film and please don’t judge too rough, its my first time!
Your Amsterdam photographer,
