Kofi and Shamista
Den Haag, Netherlands
Wedding day in Den Haag
Like the majority of my wedding photography clients, I met Kofi and Shamista long before their wedding. I did a photoshoot with them, but not an ordinary one! Kofi reached out as Shamista had long wanted a photoshoot but he had a surprise in mind. Not only was it at a gorgeous location in the Netherlands, at Kasteel de Haar (not very far from Amsterdam), but Kofi also had planned to propose during the photoshoot, so we can have the magic moment on camera. We agreed for me to make a sign when I think would be the best moment (with great lighting and background) and then he would get on one knee. We were midway through the photoshoot when I thought the moment was right for the proposal - I signalled to Kofi and asked Shamista to close her eyes. Kofi got on one knee and proposed and I have to confess, at that moment I was so nervous as well :)
After a while, it was time for the wedding ceremony and I was very happy to have been invited to be their wedding photographer. I was very glad to accept, especially as we shared such a special moment and had become great friends. The location for the wedding ceremony was in The Hague, and for the photoshoot we went to Utrecht. We had a wonderful time, as you will see in the photos below, and I wanted to mark this special time with them with a small gift. Even if they hadn’t ordered a wedding photo album, I made one and sent it by mail. They received it with great joy, and I couldn’t have been happier to leave yet another couple with great pictures and memories from their wedding day!
